Infocastle

For the master's thesis, the castle Oberkapfenberg, in Austria, was reconstructed as a VR 3D Simulation, as it once was in its original state during the Renaissance. Do rebuild the castle as close as possible to its original appearance, every available information and photographs were collected and documented in that book. The thesis book was bound with materials, which are fitting to the concept of the thesis, such as the wood that originates from the same forest, where the castle stands and a hologram with the depiction of the 3D Render of the castle.

Utopia and Collapse

Utopia and Collapse documents the rise and fall of Metsamor, the Armenian atomic city. It brings together a history of the place and a photographic research with some academic essays. Metsamor’s architecture is a unique example of an Armenian variety of Soviet Modernism. Among the topics discussed are Armenia’s cultural and architectural histories, the typology of Soviet atomograds and the phenomenon of modern ruins. This book, based on the multidisciplinary Rethinking Metsamor research project, for the first time tells the city’s story and reveals what lessons can be learned from it.

The set features a split double-bookcase design with a one-centimeter gap that reveals a glimpse of the inner cover's artwork, evoking the sensation of peering through a slightly opened door, enticing readers to uncover the mysteries within.

Te Po and Te Ao Marama

Threaded Ed.21 is conceptually underpinned by a Te Ao Maori viewpoint with cultural and collaborative frameworks that adhere to tikanga Maori (Maori customary practices) and Matauranga Maori Kawa (Maori knowledge and protocol). The structure and navigational system of Threaded Ed. 21 is based on the Waiata song Ko te Pu and incorporates visual, augmented, and sonic design queues to communicate the multi layered beginning story.

Zoom

The Zoom exhibition (Museum of Ethnography, Budapest) takes an unconventional approach to the museum’s collection. The content structure is shaped by shifts in viewpoint presenting objects and object masses from new angles. The catalogue attempts to introduce this approach through different graphical and bookbinding-printing solutions. The book’s inner spine features a uniquely generated pattern for each copy which is a reinterpretation of the embroidered motifs typical to Hungarian folk art. The exhibition was designed by art1st Design Studio, lead designer Daniel Taraczky.
